Dear Shep,

You are officially a beach bum. We just took you on your first annual Sheppard Family beach trip and you were out cold within 3 minutes of seeing the ocean. We usually spend our days lounging on the white sandy beaches, but after realizing how luxurious (and baby friendly) the Caliza Pool was, we didn’t dare try much else. Towels, hammocks, day beds, and private cabanas with fans and flat screens helped keep you entertained. Every morning we walked to the Donut truck and ordered one (Daddy ordered 11 more for himself) donut and grabbed an iced coffee with Dolly. You kept with your usual schedule and had plenty of firsts while we were there. You decided that spinach is delicious, naps in grownup beds are a lot more fun than crib naps, finally heard what your nursery sound machine is mimicking (probably why the ocean immediately put you to sleep), & visited the Peach Park on the car ride down (what can I say? We have parks dedicated to Peaches in sweet home Alabama).

Thank you for changing the way we vacation. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Well, I take that back……I wish I’d come home with a tan.
