Month 8 | Augustus Finch

May 15, 2018

Dearest Auggie,

You’re 8 months old and growing like a little weed baby. You still sleep like a baby (yikes!) but apart from that you’re definitely an easy baby and fit right in with this wild and crazy group of boys. I took a new job this month and with that, so did you in a way. You’re officially the Snuggle Me Organic model by association and the cutest thing in the ads you’ve ever seen. Trust me on this one. With the new job, I have more set hours and you’re with Daddy a few extra hours a week, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m the favorite 😉 You love to eat still, but you’re making your way to table foods even more so this month and loving things like apples and puffs when you can! We’ve tried broccoli and rasberries and you really impress us with how well you seem to get a grasp on eating like a big boy so easily! It’s getting hotter outside every day, but we’re making the best of it by doing a lot of backyard swinging together and strolling next to the boys for evening walks outside.

Sitting up so well has meant a lot of new (noisy) fun toys to explore, and you’re getting to be so observant and interested in basically anything within arms reach. Sheppard still makes you laugh harder than anyone around and while I’m sure it will get old soon, his belly blows get some of your best giggles to date. You nurse like a toddler suddenly and are unable to actually sit still and eat. You do more of an acrobatic move that takes me with you half the tie and has become less snuggly and more olympic in nature. Praying that is a phase that passes if you don’t mind 😉

You say Baba and Dada and Mama but we’re not calling it just yet. I’m placing bets that Mama will be first, but we shall see who wins in due time (no pressure, but I do provide most of your food). For now, I’m just excited that in a few days we leave for the beach and summer will officially begin! Bring on the swimming pools and seeing you crawl for the first time and hearing that Mama not too far off in the distant future. I love you darling boy,

Love

MAMA MAMA MAMA (say it with me….)
