Auggie Bear,
You’re nine months old and somehow I feel like we were just starting this monthly journal yesterday. You’re CRAWLING and STANDING and just blowing our minds with changes daily. Just the other day I found you standing up in your crib like it was no big deal. WHICH IT IS! Now Daddy has the lower the crib, which theoretically to a mom is the equivalent of you going to college. It’s basically the same thing. The crawling thing barely started with a scoot last month, but this month you’re really getting the hang of it and I’m sure by next month you’ll have truly taken off for good. We’re so proud of you and can’t get over how quickly you pick up on things (despite the fact that we hold you ALL the time haha). Another huge accomplishment for you is the two teeth that have popped through your bottom gums. Oh nugget, you’ve been such a trooper and haven’t made a fuss over them. I can’t say your older brothers were quite as good at holding it together for teeth. I guess there’s still time for you to prove me wrong when it comes to the next ones đŸ˜‰ AND NO BIG DEAL but you say MAMA (and dada but really I’m writing this sooooo we will focus on the first one. YOU SAY MAMA !!!!!! I mean, its huge considering your brothers were nearly three before calline me Mama. I’m buying you a pony…or a car…or both I can’t say. Probably both, let’s be real.
Something amazing that happened this month? THE BEACH! You spent your fair time at the pool with us, but the biggest first for you was touching the ocean. You loved it and were so anxious to touch the sand. I will say it was probably a good thing that your crawl isn’t down to an art yet, bc in a month I imagine you would’ve spent the entire time attacking the sand by crawling off our giant beach mat. We had a great tent with a tiny baby pool inside that you enjoyed more than we expected you to, but if we are handing out awards, I’m afraid I can’t give you one for beach naps. You fussed your way into a slumber and we vowed to never attempt that again when it was all said and done. You wanted to be in an air-conditioned room without sand on my body or yours and artificial waves from your sound machine haha! You weren’t fooled by the real deal, unfortunately. You really did make the trip an easy one (considering your baby status) and we are so thankful that we were able to go and enjoy being together as a family. I may have cried on our way home bc I didn’t want to leave. I took a few rolls of film and I plan to get those developed soon to soak up all of the fun moments again in me memories.
Your loves this month have been strawberries (or bleeding heart as Daddy calls them when you eat them – lets just say its a dirty process), your reflection in the mirror by your changing table, itsy bitsy spider, and bath time in your new bath chair. Honestly, you love a lot of things and we love watching you enjoy it all! You’re happy most of the day and while you still aren’t sleeping through the night, I don’t mind the extra snuggles for the most part and secretly know that when it ends, it’s just another baby phase gone. So for now, we can snuggle the extra snuggles and find ways to watch you explore new things at a slow and steady pace. Because the thing is, you’re a baby…..and babies don’t keep.
I love you so!
MommyXx
