Your first Halloween was full of posing for photos, pitching fits, & eating lots of cards & books for breakfast. We started celebrating a little early with a last minute Gomez costume I made for you. Joanna asked if she could photograph you for the blog, so we went to her beautiful home and you couldn’t have made me more proud. You let me draw all over that precious face and sat up like such a big boy as she snapped away. Weren’t you just the cutest thing?
We were invited to our first Halloween playdate (you wore your fox costume), but I have no fun photos to show you since you insisted on crying each time you heard another baby whimper or whine. I think you might have mastered empathy for others to a fault. We also made mummy cake pops for your school teachers and you were such a big helper keeping them nice and neat on the platter as we walked in to hand them out.
You woke up on Halloween to presents from Daddy and me in bed (all of which you put straight into your mouth) & dressed in your fox outfit for your first Trick or Treat. We went to Dece and Shep’s neighborhood to let them join in on the fun, but you were having none of it. Whether you were tired, overstimulated, or scared of the characters walking around, you were absolutely positively miserable from start to finish. I plopped you in the car and you were suddenly happy and content realizing it was almost bath and bedtime (you’re nothing if not predictable).
Thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives. Before you Halloween was just another day, but now it’s pure adventure.
Mommy Xx
