Park Day

November 11, 2013

Dear Shep | a mother's letters to her s
Dear Shep,

It’s rare that the three of us have the chance to picnic on a weekday in the short lived fall weather, so you and I were thrilled when Daddy was able to do just that with us today. We packed you in your sling and walked around Homewood helping Santa shop for you at the toy store and browsed the countless shops full of beautiful Holiday decor (all of which I wanted) as you napped in my arms.

Once you were up, we headed to the park a street over and had a blast eating our sandwiches (you had an apple slice – yum) and playing for a bit as Daddy enjoyed his cookies and I unloaded your countless toys and balls for you on the blanket covering those icky mean old leaves that you’ve grown to hate. Silly boy.

As always, you made a fun day have a little more meaning than it did before. Thank you for that.

Mommy Xx

Ps: Come to think of it, this was a first! Our first family picnic. Minus the fuzzy white sister named Aspyn.
